The renovation of the Ambulatory Care Clinic, located on the 3rd floor of the oldest building within St. Paul’s Hospital, was designed to increase patient access to physicians. Newly created exam pods use colour and large scale graphics to aid in “wayfinding” and user comfort while central physician pods assist with the flow of administration. The renovation included the creation of two minor procedure rooms which work as a unique suite which help complete day surgeries in a more efficient manner. In addition to the various design challenges, this project was constructed while the Ambulatory Care department was operational requiring careful phasing of construction.
